SCRIPTURE – Today’s video is based on Mark 15:1-15. Here is an excerpt “Pilate questioned him, ‘Are you the king of the Jews?’ He said to him in reply, ‘You say so.’ “
REFLECT – It always feels a little uncomfortable to yell, “Crucify him,” but we do this each year on both Palm Sunday and Good Friday. It’s an apt reminder of the fruit of complacency and going with the crowd. It’s a reminder that we all played a part in the crucifixion. It’s a reminder that “while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:8
SHARE – Be thoughtful of the way you speak to others. Encourage someone today and seek to not hurt others through the use of sarcasm.
PRAY – Jesus, give me the courage to stand up and not follow the crowd. Let my life and my voice always speak of you and your love. Jesus, I repent of my failures, my sin, and my role in your suffering and death. Let the reality of the cross change me today. Let me know your love. I give you my day, my heart, and my life. Amen.
