I would love to be more patient in life, but it can be quite a struggle. Whether it’s with my kids, the guy driving next to me on the highway or with myself, I can often find myself frustrated when things don’t go exactly how I planned them to go.
To be honest, nothing is worse when you are being impatient than when someone reminds you that “patience is a virtue.” This gentle reminder seems to be like gasoline thrown on a fire for me. It’s not that I don’t believe that statement, it’s just generally when someone tells me that I am not in the right frame of mind to be reminded.
Let’s continue to strive to slow down a bit, to hear the Lord, and to wait upon the Lord. I love that phrase “wait upon the Lord.” I think it’s a concept we all need to work upon, or at least I know that I do. We wait upon a God who never disappoints. We wait for a God who’s greater than we can ever imagine. Let’s believe that and ask God for patience to wait upon his time in our spiritual lives.
Ideas for Sharing
Sharing on Social Media this week:
Share the Video from our Facebook page. Questions to post about: How has God rewarded you waiting for him? What does it mean to wait upon the Lord? How is God faithful?

Taking it offline:
- Ask God to help you be patient with him, yourself, and others.
- Share with someone one way God has surprised you this year.
- Identify 2 ways you’ve seen fruit in your life. Ask God for some new fruit in your life in an area where you are struggling.
- Pray for your friends who don’t know Jesus by name. Ask God to give you wisdom on how to share your faith with them.
