SCRIPTURE – Today’s video is based on Mark 4:35-41. “…A violent squall came up and waves were breaking over the boat, so that it was already filling up. Jesus was in the stern, asleep on a cushion. They woke him and said to him, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?” He woke up, rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Quiet! Be still!” The wind ceased and there was great calm. Then he asked them, “Why are you terrified? Do you not yet have faith?” They were filled with great awe and said to one another, “Who then is this whom even wind and sea obey?”
REFLECT – When we cry out, “where are you, God?” do we trust in faith that He is in the middle of the storm with us? Even when we are struggling, even when our lives are a mess, Jesus has authority over all of creation, and can rebuke our storms with only a word! Trust and have hope!
SHARE – Do you know someone going through a personal storm right now? Reach out to them and be a presence of God’s love for them. If you are that person going through a storm, don’t be afraid to ask for help, encouragement, or prayers from a friend. Ask Jesus to take authority over your storm.
PRAY – Jesus, you have authority over all of creation; I give you authority over my life, and over my heart. Please calm this storm in my life right now, and if it is not your will, then be my source of strength to see it through to the other side, Amen.
