Can you know God’s will? Yes, you can. It’s about discerning between your voice, God’s voice, and the voice of the devil.
St. Ignatius of Loyola started off as a dedicated solider who took a cannonball to the leg. While he was recovering he had a conversion and his life was never the same. He and the order he helped found, the Society of the Jesus (the Jesuits) lived by the motto Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam, for the greater glory of God.
His conversion reminds us that each of us needs to have a continual conversion and turn to Jesus. In this podcast, Andy Lesnefsky talks about how consolation and desolation lead us to figure out God’s voice.
Like St. Ignatius of Loyola you can be a Saint. You can be a hero.
For a great book on discernment, I recommend the book The Discernment of Spirits by Fr. Tim Gallagher. Buy it on Amazon here.
