Great Commission

April 2, 2018 by Andy Lesnefsky 2 Comments

SCRIPTURE – Today’s video is based on Mark 16:14-18. Here is an excerpt “Go into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to every creature. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved; whoever does not believe will be condemned.”

REFLECT – Each of us is sent out by the love of God to share our faith in Jesus Christ. The call is to “proclaim the good news to every creature.” Being a Christian is an exciting adventure. Sharing our faith is an invitation to share that adventure with others.

SHARE – Remember to pray for your friends and family that you want to share Jesus with by name. Prayer is powerful. Don’t stop praying for them and consider one tangible way you might share the good news with them this Easter.

PRAY – Jesus, send me. Send me to share the good news both far and near. Give me the courage to share you with others especially those who are closest to me. Fill me with your Holy Spirit this Easter season. I pray today for those I know and love who are far from you. I pray they might come to know your love. I give you today and all that I will do. Amen.

The Man Born Blind

March 20, 2017 by Lauren Gates 2 Comments

Thought for today:

Are you blind? Probably not, if you’re reading this right now. We think of “blindness” as being purely physical, but we can suffer from great blindness in other ways. Are we blind to our own vices? Maybe we are blind to the ways God blesses us daily, even when we don’t pray to Him. Are we blind in the way we try to forge our own way in the world, without asking God to clear a path for us first?

Action for today:

As Chris gently reminds us in this video, we all need a healer. Offer your prayers or sacrifices today for those who are blind to their sin, and that God would restore their “sight.”

Prayer for today:

Jesus, please open the eyes of my heart so I can see. Help me to see myself and others the way You see us. Please help me to see You as You truly are.

Quote for today:

Be a Hero today – #ShareJesus:

“Evangelize” yourself by and inviting Jesus into your heart today.

Camping out with God

February 20, 2016 by Lauren Gates 1 Comment

Chris Padgett #ShareJesus Camping out with GodThe temptation of the Transfiguration, is to want to stay up on that mountain. Like Peter when he exclaimed, “Lord let us build three tents! One for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah!” we want to see the glory of God revealed every day. We wish to hear Jesus speak to us directly every moment! The euphoria of a “mountaintop experience” is hard to walk away from. We are built to desire God, to need God, and to want to be close to Him. But like the apostles, God calls us away from those moments. He says, go spread My word, go be with My people.

It is extremely important that we take time to savor those moments of silence and awe in God’s presence. Those moments are gifts to us. God wishes us to spend time with us so that we can be filled up to take His love to the rest of the world. Take the time. Learn to just “be” with God and experience His joy, His peace, and His love.

Watch the video:

3 Ways to Take This Offline:

  1. Read the story of the Transfiguration. Ask God what part of your life He wants to transform.
  2. Sit with God in silence. This could be in a church, in your car, in a quiet room, or elsewhere. Take the time to just “be” with God.
  3. Ask God where He wants you to go today. Be peaceful with where he calls you, even if its nowhere extraordinary.

My Journey to Catholicism

December 18, 2015 by Andy Lesnefsky 4 Comments

Chris Padgett #ShareJesus Story Advent“You becoming Catholic is the most hurtful thing you’ve ever done to me.” These painful words are a reminder that following God’s call on our life isn’t always easy.  You can rest assure that when God does call us, he does it out of love and he calls us closer to him.

Chris Padgett is a little bit crazy (I feel confident he would admit this). I am glad to call him a friend and I know you will be inspired by his authentic witness.

Do this today:

1. Pray, 2. Comment: Share one way today how you have experienced God’s love in your life this year. 3. Like the Video, 4. Share.

4 ideas to take this offline:

  1. Think of 3 ways you’ve grown spiritually in the past year. Write them down and say a prayer of gratitude to Jesus.
  2. Consider one way that God is currently speaking to you and take one tangible action based on that.
  3. Ask at least one person today what’s one thing that’s impacted their spiritual journey.
  4. Pray the Hail Mary today and think about Mary’s example for you this Advent.

I hate waiting

April 3, 2015 by Andy Lesnefsky 1 Comment

Two things I hate are waiting and that uneasy feeling of being completely unsettled. I can’t imagine what was going through the minds and hearts of the disciples on that first Holy Saturday. Jesus was dead. They thought things were going to change. They thought they had found the Messiah. More than an unsettled feeling, it seemed like a hopeless day.

Chris Padgett 2 #ShareJesus blogWhere do you find yourself in life? In your relationship with God? Perhaps, despite the fact that we are about to celebrate Easter, you find yourself struggling. It can be that you are struggling with suffering, death, divorce, sin, or even just your relationship with God. No matter where you are in your life today, you are called to have hope.

Our hope did not die on the cross. Our hope resurrected and is realized in the resurrection. As we pause this Saturday and wrestle with the idea that our God died on a cross, we must also look forward with hope. We look forward with real hope for the current situations of lives, knowing that he came not to just save us from our sin, but redeem every part of our lives.

Taking it Offline

  • It’s not too late to invite someone to come to church with you on Easter.
  • Reach out to someone who needs a reminder that hope in God does not disappoint.
  • Consider watching a couple of #ShareJesus videos with your family to get ready for Easter tomorrow.
  • Continue to pray for those who you want to share the Lord with over Lent.

Have holy hope today. Trust in the Lord. Give him your life with a joyful expectation of Easter tomorrow.
