Have you ever lied when someone asked you the simple question “How are you doing?” I know I have as I’ve responded with the automatic “Good. How are you doing?” There are certain things we do automatically without really thinking about them. As we start this second day of Advent I want to ask you, does Advent still matter?
To be honest, I don’t think most people care about Advent or give it much thought. Sure everybody loves Christmas lights, Advent wreaths, and the 3 radio stations that play Christmas music non stop, but part of truly celebrating Advent is the necessary understanding that I can’t stay where I am stuck spiritually. The joy of Advent is realizing there’s a problem, but that the solution has come.
The good news is that Jesus comes to you where you are today. Will you let him in today and this Advent in a new way? Let Advent be about the who and the not the stuff.
How can you #ShareJesus everyday?
LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD.
Don’t forget to: 1. Pray 2. Like 3. Share and 4. Comment.
Do all four things today to help spread the good news of Jesus!
QUICK TIP: Sharing on your website? Here’s a link to a playlist so you can have all the #ShareJesus Advent Videos on your site without having to update them all the time. https://www.youtube.com/
QUESTION TO DISCUSS TODAY The question to discuss today is “what are you doing in your life to celebrate Advent?” If you are sharing on Twitter the Youtube link is https://youtu.be/
- What’s one way you can focus today on Jesus more in your daily routine?
- What’s one spiritual practice you are going to focus on this Advent?
- Ask 2-4 people you don’t normally talk about your faith with if there is anything you can pray for them for.
- Find a prayer partner you can ask to hold you accountable this Advent to your resolutions.
“The joy of the gospel fills the hearts and lives of all who encounter Jesus. Those who accept his offer of salvation are set free from sin, sorrow, inner emptiness and loneliness. With Christ joy is constantly born anew.” Pope Francis
Let the Joy of the Gospel change your life this Advent.
