Thought for today:
Welcome to Holy Week! This is the high point of the Church calendar and the holiest time of the year for Catholics! But what if you aren’t feeling, well, “holy?” The only thing we need to remember this week is that we are called to love God above all else, and love our neighbor as yourself!
Action for today:
Pick one small thing you can do for love of someone around you. (Pete gives the example of changing dirty diapers out of love for his children) Do that thing or things as often as you can, each time offering it as a prayer to God.
Prayer for today:
God, I am a sinner, and I still need you to be my Savior. Help me to enter into Holy Week with an open heart. Help me to learn what you want to teach me this week.
Quote for today:
“We can’t let Holy Week be just a kind of commemoration. It means contemplating the mystery of Jesus Christ as something which continues to work in our souls.” – St. Josemaria Escriva (CLICK TO TWEET)
Be a Hero today – #ShareJesus:
Look at your calendar and decide what church services you want to attend to enter more fully into Holy Week. Most churches will have Mass on Holy Thursday, and Stations of the Cross and other services on Good Friday. Invite your family and friends to come with you!
This week in the Podcast:
Holy Week and the Academy of Love
Holy Week and the events of the Passion remind us not only about who Jesus is but who we are called to be. In this episode, Andy Lesnefsky invites you to enter in the Paschal Mystery- the life, passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus. This is the spiritual life.
