#ShareJesus weekly video 4 featuring Michael Gormley
I know patience is a virtue, but that doesn’t make it easy to live out. Recently, I made some changes in my back yard and had to plant new grass. If you have ever planted new grass seed, you know its a process. Prep the soil, spread fertilizer, spread the grass seed, rake, water, water, water, and then wait, water, wait, water. Honestly, it seems like an endless process of waiting for the grass seed to sprout and bring forth new life.
Sometimes I feel the same way in my spiritual life. I want change, but I want it to happen overnight. I want it to be effortless. I want God to zap me with a magical beam that fixes all my problems and makes me holy.
Real growth requires patient discipline. I don’t claim to be a patient person; rather, I can attest to God’s unfailing faithfulness to his promises. Keep your eyes on him and step out in boldness in faith in proclaiming the good news. You will see fruit in your life.
