3 Tips for Dealing with Temptation

February 20, 2015 by Andy Lesnefsky 1 Comment

We have a God who is close to us

know who

God is close us to. As we journey through Lent, this Sunday we hear in the Gospel reading that Jesus goes into the desert and is tempted by Satan. We have a God that understands our struggles. Jesus wants to enter into our darkest places, our pain, and our loneliness.

Today Brian Kissinger shares about Jesus and his temptation and 3 quick lessons we can learn from how Jesus overcomes temptation.

God wants to do BIG things in your life and through you. Continue to make yourself available to him to, hear his voice, and continue to be his instrument in sharing Jesus with a world that desperately needs him.

On Facebook today

here’s a couple of posting ideas to accompany a share of the video (we highly recommend sharing the video from our page on Facebook instead of a youtube link because Facebook gives more play and attention to videos hosted on their networks):

  • Jesus knew who he was. What does it mean to be a child of God?
  • Jesus knew who God was. How have you come to know who God is?
  • Jesus waited and trusted in God. How have you waited upon the Lord?

On Twitter

  • RT our tweets
  • Today share the youtube link http://youtu.be/JhV83op2Qys along with one way you’ve come to know Jesus, something your relationship with God has taught you about yourself, and/or something that spoke to you from Brian’s video.

Taking it offline

  • Take some time today to reflect on who God is and what it means to be his child.
  • Encourage someone you know who is struggling in life or in their relationship with God. Write them an encouraging note.
  • Ask someone today if you can pray with them and do it.
  • Continue to pray for those who you want to share the Lord with over Lent.

Whatever struggles you face, God is here. God will be your strength in the face of temptation, whatever it may be. Know who you are. Know who God is. Wait upon the Lord. He never disappoints.

God bless you,

Andy Lesnefsky

The Lord Calls Us Back.

February 19, 2015 by Andy Lesnefsky 1 Comment

It’s amazing to see what God is doing through #ShareJesus. In just two days, we are at 150,000 views of our first two videos. It’s not just about numbers though. It’s about people.

#ShareJesusI wanted to share a comment I received from yesterday’s video:  I loved that message!!! I’ve stepped away from church these last 6 months and the yearning and hunger for God she speaks of is absolutely present. A constant knocking at my door to return. This Lent I’m going back to Church. This is what #ShareJesus is all about: people encountering the Lord.

Remember the good news is so good it should be shared! Please continue to use these videos as a tool to both grow in your relationship with God but to also #ShareJesus.

Today’s video features Deacon Ralph Poyo. Deacon Ralph examines the Lenten topic of repentance. “We are not the creator. We are not God. We are the creation.” Deacon Ralph calls us to examine ourselves and to come back to the Lord this Lent.

here’s a couple of posting ideas to accompany a share of the video (we highly recommend sharing the video from our page on Facebook instead of a youtube link because Facebook gives more play and attention to videos hosted on their networks):

  • How have you learned from your mistakes in terms of following the Lord?
  • Reflect on how God has been merciful in your life.
  • What’s something you are working on overcoming this Lent (i.e. impatience, complaining, gossip?)

On Twitter

  • RT our tweets
  • Today share the youtube link http://youtu.be/Br0GItmX2hk along with one way you’ve experienced God’s mercy, or something you are working on overcoming, and/or something that spoke to you from Deacon Ralph’s video.
  • Join us in tweeting during 4-5 PM EST. During this time we are encouraging everyone participating to join in by tweeting about #ShareJesus by using the #ShareJesus

Taking it offline

  • Take a few minutes to examine your relationship with Jesus and how you need to repent this Lent.
  • Make a plan to get to the Sacrament of Confession. Invite a friend who has been away from church to join you.
  • Ask forgiveness from someone you’ve wronged.
  • Continue to pray for those who you want to share the Lord with over Lent.

Even when we continually mess up, God loves us no less. That’s pretty amazing. His love is perfect. Today, I am grateful for the Lord’s mercy and love and thankful that you’ve come along for this journey of #ShareJesus this Lent.

God bless you,

Andy Lesnefsky

#ShareJesus Ash Wednesday with Fr. Leo Patalinghug

February 18, 2015 by Andy Lesnefsky 5 Comments

Fr Leo ShareJesus

Lent literally means a “springtime” and our prayer is that you will have the most amazing springtime this Lent because you will be inspired to encounter Jesus in new ways but even more so, you will be challenged to #ShareJesus in new ways. Please join us in praying today that God will work powerfully through #ShareJesus.

As promised, here is your first video featuring Fr. Leo Patalinghug but below you have the link to video on Facebook. Remember, the challenge is not to just watch the videos. The goal is to watch the video, pray about it, and share about Jesus in a relevant way today with your friends, neighbors, coworkers, etc both on and off social media.

The videos for the week all look towards the Gospel reading for this Sunday so you’ll also be more engaged at Mass on Sunday with the readings.

Below the video you will find ideas for sharing online on different networks and some ideas for sharing offline as well. Think of the videos and the ideas as prompts to give you inspiration to share your story.
