What is the Meaning of Life?

March 19, 2019 by Andy Lesnefsky 2 Comments

Reflect: “Always remember this: life is a journey. It is a path, a journey to meet Jesus. At the end, and forever.” – Pope Francis

Our meaning of life is what we choose it to be. Who or what will you choose today?

Share: Ask a friend of faith what they believe to be the meaning of life. Have a conversation in which you encourage each other to choose Jesus.

Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, thank you for your love. Help me to choose you today, and every day, until I see you in heaven.

Today’s Podcast Episode: The prophets suffered for sharing God’s truth, but they kept on preaching. They did not abandon their call.

Why You Should Fast This Lent

March 8, 2019 by Andy Lesnefsky 1 Comment

Reflect: ”Fasting gives birth to prophets and strengthens the powerful; fasting makes lawgivers wise. Fasting is a good safeguard for the soul, a steadfast companion for the body, a weapon for the valiant, and a gymnasium for athletes. Fasting repels temptations, anoints unto piety; it is the comrade of watchfulness and the artificer of chastity. In war it fights bravely, in peace it teaches stillness.” – St. Basil the Great

Share: Share one of this weeks videos with a friend who needs some encouragement.

Prayer: Jesus, help me to fast. I want to grow in holiness. Allow me to rid myself of all that distracts from you and to make both big and small this Lent. Teach me to fast well. I give you this day and my life. Amen

Living Pentecost

May 16, 2018 by Andy Lesnefsky 5 Comments

The Holy Spirit can still seem like a mystery in many ways. This Sunday we celebrate Pentecost which we see as the birthday of the church.

It’s not merely a time to put on our proverbial birthday party hats and think about what happened many years ago. It is a moment for us to invite the Holy Spirit to be a greater part of our lives. It is a chance to wait upon the Lord with expectant joy.

May this Pentecost be a new and joyous celebration for you and your family!

Watch this week’s video featuring Bob Lesnefsky:

Keep praying with us:

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created. And You shall renew the face of the earth.

Amen.

Jesus and Caesar

March 19, 2018 by Andy Lesnefsky 2 Comments

SCRIPTURE – Today’s video is based on Mark 12:13-17. Here is an excerpt “So Jesus said to them, ‘Repay to Caesar what belongs to Caesar and to God what belongs to God.’ They were utterly amazed at him.”

REFLECT – It seems like we live in a time where political divisions are deeper than ever. Wherever we live and whomever our nation’s leader is, this is not our home. Heaven is. Let’s strive to reflect who we are in faith in all aspects of our life including politics, but never fail to forget who our king is.

SHARE – Go out of your way to make someone smile and say a prayer for them.

PRAY – Jesus, you are my lord, my savior, and my king. I want to make you first in my life and in my heart. Give me the grace to surrender to you. I pray specifically today for those I have disagreed with and ask for help to both forgive and ask for forgiveness. I give you today. Amen.

Latest Podcast Episode: You are a Prophet, and St. Anna Schaffer

In this episode, we look at the role of the prophet both in salvation history and in terms of our baptismal call.

G.K. Chesterton said, “in an upside-down world such as ours, the prophet is the one who stands on his head so that he might see things aright.”

The featured saint in this episode is Saint Anna Schaffer.

Teaching on Marriage

March 14, 2018 by Lauren Gates 5 Comments

SCRIPTURE – Today’s video is based on Mark 10: 1-12. Here is an excerpt: “But from the beginning of creation, ‘God made them male and female. For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.”

REFLECT – Our hearts were made for intimacy with God, and marriage is a sign of that intimacy. God longs for you with a deep thirst that only you can satisfy. For those of us who have experienced broken marriages, who are maybe fearful or cynical about marriage or love that lasts, know that God sees your pain, and He is right there with you in it. There is no wound He can’t heal, and no limit to the love He has for you.

SHARE – If you are married, do something extra to show love to your spouse today. If you are not married and wish to be so, pray for your future spouse. If you are neither of these, spend some time in silence with God and let His love fill your heart.

PRAY – God, heal our hearts, and heal our marriages. Show us Your love and the intimacy that You wish us to have with You. Show us how to truly love each other the way You do. Amen.
