How to Know What God Wants

March 27, 2017 by Andy Lesnefsky 1 Comment

Thought for the day:

What has God been teaching you this Lent? To discern what God wants for us we must make time to hear him speak to us. We must try to recognize the various ways he is speaking to us.

Action for today:

Pray the Our Father slowly and think about the words you pray. “Thy will be done..”

Prayer for today:

Jesus, help me to hear your voice and to be the person you call me to be. Increase my desire for you and for prayer. I love you. Lead me. Guide me today.

Quote for today:

“To have courage for whatever comes in life – everything lies in that.”– Saint Teresa of Avila (CLICK TO TWEET)

Be a Hero today – #ShareJesus:

Ask someone if you can pray with them today.

Coming to your Senses

March 3, 2016 by Andy Lesnefsky Leave a Comment

Jim Beckman #ShareJesus coming to your sensesIs Jesus lost? Now I realize that’s a funny question. Sometimes we say or sing “I found Jesus.” You can only find something that is lost. The reality is that one of the most beautiful things about our Christian faith is the fact that we don’t find God, he has found us. We can often talk about the journey as it’s something we do, but we should never forget that God came to us.

Today my good friend Jim Beckman shares about how we come to our senses like the prodigal son and he gives us four really concrete tips on how to be more receptive to God.

4 Ways to Take This Offline:

  1. Stretch for silence.
  2. Practice awareness
  3. Use good discernment.
  4. Recognize divine appointments.

January 17, 2016 by Andy Lesnefsky 2 Comments

Evangelization 101 #ShareJesus Jim Beckman (1)Evangelization can seem scary, tough, and complicated. It does not have to be. How do you share your faith? What’s the central message? How do you overcome fear? This week #ShareJesus focuses on evangelization and equipping you to share your faith and your story. It’s going to be a great week.
I am not going to share 4 tips to take this offline today as I want to encourage you to follow the tips Jim Beckman shares in today’s video, Evangelization 101.
I’ve heard today’s speaker described as the Chuck Norris of evangelization as he always delivers talks like a roundhouse kick to the soul. Check out his video and let me know what you think at

Why did he have to die?

March 22, 2015 by Andy Lesnefsky Leave a Comment

Earlier this year I completed my ninth marathon. I tell you this not to tell you that I am an amazing athlete, but because for most of my life I thought the idea of running was really dumb. The thought of having to run while dribbling a ball or chasing someone made sense to me but the thought of running just to run seemed pointless.

Jim Beckman blog #ShareJesus 2About 10 years ago, a friend of mine was turning 40 and decided to run his second IRONMAN and I decided I would run my first marathon. Somehow I finished that first race and fell in love with running. I think there are many parallels to the spiritual life and running.

When you are running a marathon, you are competing to finish. You are not racing against other people. You are trying for a PR (Personal Record). You are not trying to beat some other runner. When it comes to Lent, it’s not about outdoing your neighbor next door or comparing your journey to other people’s journeys.

It is often easy to compare ourselves to others, but how God wants to work in your life this Lent is going to be different than how he wants to work in my life. Keep focused on Him. Lents is about getting to the finish line and what an amazing finish line Easter is. God comes not just to die but to bring new life.

In today’s video, Jim Beckman (@JimImpact) talks about why Jesus had to die. Understand why, and you’ll understand Him better.

Sharing Online

Quick Social Media Tip for Facebook today:
Try a story post today (separate from your video share post) where you share a story about how you’ve encountered Jesus in your life.

Ideas for sharing on Social Media today:
1. What can you use prayer for these last 2 weeks of Lent?

2. What did God come to save you from?

Taking it Offline

  • Pray in public today (i.e. Say grace before meals, read your bible on break, etc).
  • Do an act of charity for someone and try not to be noticed.
  • Send one of the #ShareJesus videos to someone via text message.
  • Pray for continued opportunities to witness to Jesus in conversations with coworkers, classmates, friends, and family members.
Keep your focus on the finish line. Easter awaits us. He comes to bring us new life! #ShareJesus today!

Say Goodbye to Time

March 12, 2015 by Brian Kissinger 1 Comment

Can you believe that Easter is just over 3 weeks away? For those of us on the East Coast, the endless winter is finally (hopefully) passed us and signs of spring are showing up. Maybe your Lent is going really well and the time seems to be flying by, or maybe the past few weeks have gone by really slowly. Time is strange like that. Often the most enjoyable experiences in our lives seem to happen so fast, while we watch the seconds pass slowly through the math classes of our lives.

Jim Beckman #ShareJesus blogAs we approach Holy Week, the theme of time keeps coming up. We worship the Eternal God, we believe that Heaven is eternal joy, and Jesus offers eternal life to those who follow Him. It’s hard to wraps our minds around eternity when everything we experience is passing and fading. And yet we have hope in Christ’s promise of eternal life, a life beyond this world with joy and love that know no end.

Today, Jim Beckman (@JimImpact) shares about the reality of eternity, our deep desire for eternity, and Jesus’ invitation to eternal life.

Quick Social Media Tip for today:

Your story with Jesus is important. Tell it today in an authentic way.

For sharing on Social Media today:

  1. When have you experienced a taste or a glimpse of eternity? When have you had a moment that you were overwhelmed with pure joy?
  2. What is one way that you try to accept Jesus’ invitation to eternal life?
  3. What is one movie, song, or poem that you’ve found where the artist or creator expressed the innate human desire for an experience of eternal joy?

The YouTube link to share with your tweets today is http://youtu.be/FTLXamj8B_I Don’t forget to use the #ShareJesus.

Remember a Facebook Video share from our page is better than a Youtube Link on Facebook.

Take It Offline

  • Ask the Lord to increase your desire for Heaven.
  • Share with one person how you have experienced new life and hope in Jesus.
  • Pray for someone who has died and pray that they would experience eternal life in Heaven.
  • Dare to ask Jesus in prayer what things are hindering your relationship with Him.

Eternity means life with no beginning or end. God invites us to life of the best kind. Don’t wait for heaven to experience this.
