Father, Into Thy Hands I Commit My Spirit

April 19, 2019 by Andy Lesnefsky 1 Comment

Reflect: “I slept on the cross and a sword pierced my side for you who slept in paradise and brought forth Eve from your side. My side has healed the pain in yours. My sleep will rouse you from your sleep in hell. The sword that pierced me has sheathed the sword that was turned against you.

Rise, let us leave this place. The enemy led you out of the earthly paradise. I will not restore you to that paradise, but I will enthrone you in heaven. I forbade you the tree that was only a symbol of life, but see, I who am life itself am now one with you. I appointed cherubim to guard you as slaves are guarded, but now I make them worship you as God. The throne formed by cherubim awaits you, its bearers swift and eager. The bridal chamber is adorned, the banquet is ready, the eternal dwelling places are prepared, the treasure houses of all good things lie open. The kingdom of heaven has been prepared for you from all eternity.” – An ancient homily for Holy Saturday

Share: Call someone you haven’t talked to in a while to share with them what God has been doing in your life.

Prayer: Jesus, today as we keep vigil and wait to celebrate Easter, help me to be patient. Help me to wait upon you. Jesus, I give you permission to move in a powerful way in my life this Easter. Bring me new life. Let me know the joy of your salvation. I love you. Thank you for the cross and your love for me.
Amen.

It Is Finished

April 19, 2019 by Andy Lesnefsky 3 Comments

Reflect: ”As they were looking on, so we too gaze on his wounds as he hangs. We see his blood as he dies. We see the price offered by the redeemer, touch the scars of his resurrection. He bows his head, as if to kiss you. His heart is made bare open, as it were, in love to you. His arms are extended that he may embrace you. His whole body is displayed for your redemption. Ponder how great these things are. Let all this be rightly weighed in your mind: as he was once fixed to the cross in every part of his body for you, so he may now be fixed in every part of your soul. – St. Augustine

Share: Invite someone to pray with you today in front of a crucifix.

Prayer: Look down upon me, good and gentle Jesus while before Your face I humbly kneel and, with burning soul, pray and beseech You to fix deep in my heart lively sentiments of faith, hope, and charity; true contrition for my sins, and a firm purpose of amendment.

While I contemplate, with great love and tender pity, Your five most precious wounds, pondering over them within me and calling to mind the words which David, Your prophet, said to You, my Jesus: “They have pierced My hands and My feet, they have numbered all My bones.”

Amen.

Make the Most of These Sacred Days

April 17, 2019 by Andy Lesnefsky Leave a Comment

Tonight we begin to celebrate the Triduum, the high point of our faith and the liturgical year.

This culminates in the celebration of the Easter Vigil:

“According to a most ancient tradition, this night is “one of vigil for the Lord,” and the Vigil celebrated during it, to commemorate that holy night when the Lord rose from the dead, is regarded as the “mother of all holy vigils.” For in that night, the Church keeps vigil, waiting for the resurrection of the Lord, and celebrates the sacraments of Christian initiation.”

How do you make the most of these precious days? Join us for our last live Thursday video tonight at 9 pm EST at Facebook.com/redeemedonline.

Got a question? Shoot me an email or join in the live discussion. I would love to answer your questions about the Triduum and Easter! See you tonight

God bless,

Andy

I Thirst

April 16, 2019 by Andy Lesnefsky 3 Comments

Reflect: ”I Thirst for You. Yes, that is the only way to even begin to describe My love for you. I THIRST FOR YOU. I thirst to love you and to be loved by you – that is how precious you are to Me. I THIRST FOR YOU. Come to Me, and I will fill your heart and heal your wounds. I will make you a new creation, and give you peace, even in all your trials I THIRST FOR YOU. You must never doubt My mercy, My acceptance of you, My desire to forgive, My longing to bless you and live My life in you. I THIRST FOR YOU. If you feel unimportant in the eyes of the world, that matters not at all. For Me, there is no one any more important in the entire world than you. I THIRST FOR YOU. Open to Me, come to Me, thirst for Me, give me your life – and I will prove to you how important you are to My Heart.

Don’t you realize that My Father already has a perfect plan to transform your life, beginning from this moment? Trust in Me. Ask Me every day to enter and take charge of your life. – and I will. I promise you before My Father in heaven that I will work miracles in your life. Why would I do this? Because I THIRST FOR YOU. All I ask of you is that you entrust yourself to Me completely. I will do all the rest.” – St. Teresa of Calcutta describing the love of Christ.

Share: Do an act of charity for someone in need.

Prayer: Jesus, help me to know your thirst and allow me to help quench that thirst. I give you this. Help me this Holy Week to enter into the depth of the mystery of the cross. Thank you for your love. I give you this day. Amen.

Behold Your Mother

April 14, 2019 by Andy Lesnefsky 1 Comment

Reflect: “To succeed in your intentions, entrust yourselves to the Blessed Virgin Mary always, but especially in moments of difficulty and darkness. ‘From Mary we learn to surrender to God’s will in things. From Mary we learn to trust even when all hope seems gone. From Mary we learn to love Christ, her Son and the Son of God…Learn from her to be always faithful, to trust that God’s Word to you will be fulfilled, and that nothing is impossible with God.’”
– St. John Paul II

Let us turn our hearts and minds to Mary, our mother, during this Holy Week

Share: Pray a rosary today for your friends and family who don’t know Jesus.

Prayer: Jesus, I want to honor your mother like you. Mary, you are my mother. Please intercede for me and lead me ever closer to your son. You were faithful to him to last breath. Pray that I may have that same faithfulness. Amen.
