Jesus, Miracles and You

March 25, 2017 by Sarah Swafford 7 Comments

Thought of today:

It can be easily to walk blindly through life and miss all of the amazing things the Lord is doing, not only in your own life, but in the lives of those around you. Take a few minutes today and call to mind the miracles you have seen or see happening around you.

Action for today:

Sometimes it takes writing things down to realize the impact it may be having on your life. Take out a sheet of paper, or your journal, and write down what miracles you have seen or maybe are seeing in your life right now.

Prayer for today:

Heavenly Father, we thank you for the gift of your Son and for the work He did on earth to draw people into your love. May we be ever mindful of the work you are doing and have done in our lives. We thank you for the many miracles, big and small, that you have orchestrated in our lives that have brought us closer to you. Continue to work miracles in our lives and in the lives of those we love.

Quote for today:

blog post #sharejesus Sarah S

“There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.” ― Albert Einstein (CLICK TO TWEET)

Be a Hero today – #ShareJesus:

Be bold today and tell a friend or loved one how they impacted your life and helped you grow in your relationship with God, in faith, in virtue. Let them know how they have were an instrument that God used to perform a miracle in your life.

The Christmas Miracle

December 24, 2015 by Sarah Swafford 1 Comment

Merry Christmas! After weeks of anticipation and preparation, the big day is finally here! Christmas Day can be a wonderful whirlwind of activities and get-togethers with family and friends, but how can we slow it down and really soak in the true meaning of this sacred Solemnity?Sarah Swafford #ShareJesus The Christmas Miracle

As Christians and Catholics, this is not just a “one day” event! It is the beginning of the Octave of Christmas! Let us celebrate together the fullness of truth and the richness of the best gift we will receive today, the birth of our Savior!

4 Questions to Take to Prayer:

  1. How do you plan on trying to slow the Christmas Day down a bit and keeping it centered on the true meaning of Christmas?
  2. What is one way you can thank God the Father for the gift of His only Son this Christmas Season? Maybe more time in daily prayer with Him, an act of kindness or service, reaching out to someone struggling or feeling alone this time of the year. Jesus loves the gift of your time, mind, and heart.
  3. What are some pleasures and comforts that the world tries to convince you are actually the source of true peace and joy? Remember, pleasures and comforts are fleeting, but true peace and joy come from our Lord.
  4. Who do you want to share the gift of your faith with this Christmas Season? Who in your life needs to hear about the joy and peace that a life with Christ gives you?

Where is God in my Suffering?

March 26, 2015 by Andy Lesnefsky 2 Comments

As Jesus walked the cross to Calvary, there were crowds of people everywhere, and yet He felt very alone. In our suffering, even when there are people walking with us, it is easy to feel like no one is there, and no one understands what we are going through. Yet God allows us to walk these tough paths to bring us closer to Him — to learn to trust Him with our lives more and more. Even when we feel like no one is with us, God is with us. We have hope because we have His promise of new life!

arah Swafford blog 2 #ShareJesusAs we approach Holy Week, it’s a great time to think about stepping up your Lent. What part of your relationship with God is going well? What needs some work? Where can you refocus on the Lord? In terms of evangelizing, it is the week we as a church celebrate and walk through the gospel. This is a wonderful time to share Jesus online but to also be intentional about inviting people back to church with you.

In today’s #ShareJesus, Sarah Swafford talks about how we can believe and trust in God in the midst of suffering.

Sharing Online

Evangelize today by being social with the Gospel.

Remember

  1. To ask the Holy Spirit to guide you today.
  2. That without Jesus we are lost. He brings new life. This is news worth sharing.

On Social Media today:

  • Have you shared any of the #ShareJesus videos, quotes, or pictures lately? Share one today, and consider putting this video on a friend’s wall who you know has been going through a tough time lately.
Don’t forget on Facebook, please share the video from our Facebook page. This way you’ll get a lot more views than if you share a Youtube link on Facebook.
From Twitter please use the Youtube link https://youtu.be/D0GFbkv2-cA with your posts and don’t forget to RT our tweets.

Taking it Offline

  • If you are feeling the weight of the world becoming overwhelming, pause what you are doing, and praise God for what you are going through. Thank Him for the struggles and the suffering that unite us to His Son, and teach us to trust Him more!
  • Light a candle in church for someone who is suffering.
  • Do a random act of kindness for a neighbor, friend, or family member who is going through something hard, to remind them that they are not alone!

There’s still plenty of time this Lent to encounter Jesus. There’s still plenty of time to #ShareJesus too!

Is God Just an Emotional Experience?

February 28, 2015 by Andy Lesnefsky Leave a Comment

Today I wanted to start off by saying thanks. Thanks for being a part of what the Lord is doing through #ShareJesus. It’s incredible that we have over 500,000 views of our #ShareJesus videos to date. The point of this project though isn’t about view counts of the videos; it’s about real people encountering God in new ways. You guys are doing a great job of sharing Jesus. I love hearing your awesome stories and feedback about the #ShareJesus videos, whether it how its how you are using them (like showing them in classrooms,) how they’ve personally inspired you, or how your friends and family are using the videos to encounter Jesus.

swafford blogBut perhaps, you haven’t really jumped into #ShareJesus just yet. It’s not too late to get started. Remember the goal of #ShareJesus isn’t to just watch a video, but to find opportunities to evangelize. Commit to sharing Jesus this Lent.

I have talked to people who have said to me, “I am loving the videos, but I don’t do social media.” That’s really okay. The point of #ShareJesus isn’t to convince people that they need to get a Twitter or Facebook account. You don’t need a social media account to evangelize your family, friends, and neighbors. If you don’t have social media, I want to encourage you to use our taking it offline suggestions. You’ve got plenty of opportunities to #ShareJesus that don’t involve social media.

In today’s #ShareJesus, Sarah Swafford talks about discovering a love that’s greater and richer than anything you’ve ever felt. What do you when the God high is gone?

Sharing Online

Are you following us on Facebook? Twitter? Instagram? Pinterest?

Evangelize today by being social with the Gospel. #ShareJesus today on Social Media. Aim for at least two posts today: One with the video, one without always using #ShareJesus.

Remember

  1. Let the Holy Spirit guide you in sharing Jesus.
  2. The Good News is really good. God loves you perfectly and completely. It’s a love worth sharing.

On Social Media today consider these questions:

  • What does it mean to you that God loves you?
  • How do you believe in God in difficult times? What sustains you?

Don’t forget on Facebook, please share the video from our Facebook page. This way you’ll get a lot more views than if you share a Youtube link on Facebook.

From Twitter please use the Youtube link http://youtu.be/X6mc_iiA6-s with your posts and don’t forget to RT our tweets.

Taking it Offline

  • Take some time to pray about what it means that God loves you.
  • Reach out to someone you know who is going through a difficult time.
  • Write down your story about how you have encountered Jesus. Pray for an opportunity to share it with someone this week. Look for an opportunity to do this.
  • Continue to pray for those who you want to share the Lord with over Lent.

God has done great things. He is doing big things. Continue to be a part of it. #ShareJesus today.

Invite someone new to join #ShareJesus today!
