This week’s video continues our reflection on Gaudete et Exsultate, Pope Francis’s exhortation on holiness (find it here.)
In the second chapter, he picks out two ”recycled” heresies as the great enemies of holiness.
Why does Pope Francis pick two heresies as the great enemies of holiness? I believe it is because holiness is not something exterior we put on like a shirt. Holiness is an interior transformation that bears fruit on the exterior.
Holiness is being who we are created to be. Holiness is the beautiful surrender of being a disciple. The great enemies of holiness are a refusal to surrender to the workings of God in the heart.
Let us run to the arms of Jesus today.
Prayer: Jesus, I surrender this day and my entire life to you. I want to be holy. Help me to be like you in all things as I receive your love and your mercy in my life today. You are my Lord and my God. Holy Spirit, I give you permission to act in me and through me. Amen.
Watch this week’s video and I would love to hear from you what are the enemies you see to holiness in your life…
